Ballia Water Center (BWC) has established community-based Filtered Water ATM systems to provide safe and affordable drinking water in arsenic-affected areas. Currently, two such units with a capacity of approximately 4000 liters per day are operational. One unit is installed at the BWC facility, where local residents regularly collect safe drinking water at a nominal cost. The second unit is located in Madhopur village, an arsenic-prone area, where it serves the local community in a similar manner.
These Water ATMs are designed to remove contaminants such as arsenic, iron, and other impurities, ensuring access to clean and safe water at the community level. The model promotes both public health and sustainability by providing a reliable water source at minimal cost, while also demonstrating a scalable solution for rural and affected regions.
